As a Pilot Project the CSSC is introduced in 2019 the usage of spare players for the 2024 Summer Season still applies.
RULES
- To qualify as a “Spare”, player must be on the CSSC “Waiting List”.
- Only players on the CSSC “Waiting List” are designated as “Spare”.
- A “Spare” can play for any team that requires support.
- A “Spare” will not be able to play in the play-offs.
- A “Spare” will remain eligible to become a full-time player should an opening become available. Priority, as per “Waiting List” sign-up, will be respected.
- A “Spare” will be assigned to requesting team (by priority and need) by CSSC CE.
Procedure:
Note: Only the Coach / Assistant Coach can make the request.
- A team that has less than 15 confirmed players can make a request for a “Spare”.
- If a team requests a “Spare” BUT 15 or more regular players show up for the game, the players that have confirmed their absence , hence the call-up of ‘’Spare’’, cannot play. Amended by C.A. (coaches).
- Agreement between the 2 coaches to allow “Spare” to play is not valid.
- A coach can request for a “Spare” or multiple “Spares” from the CSSC Registrar no later than 8:00 p.m. Friday preceding the Sunday game. Requests after the deadline will not be accepted.
- A “Spare” must be designated by the CSSC CE. A “Spare” that happens to be at the game is not eligible to play.
- If 2 teams playing each other have less than 15 players, the following will apply:
- First team to make the request has priority.
- If 1 team is missing 2 players and the other team is missing 1 player, every effort will be made to accommodate both teams. Otherwise, team with the lesser regular players will get consideration regardless of who made the request first.
- A coach cannot arbitrarily call players to “Spare” for his team.
- A team that uses a “Spare” not authorized by the CSSC Registrar will lose the game by default.
- A Coach that wants to add a spare to their team roster "Regular Player" must do so by asking permission from all the teams. This must be done before week 11
- No “Spare” may be added to any team as a "full time player" if the team has played 11 season games .
A COACH is a member of the CSSC C.A. As such, the Coach represents the CSSC League on and off the
playing field. A Coach will encourage fair play as to keep the CSSC League friendly and welcoming to
all members regardless of CALIBER.
Mandate/Responsibility
- The Coach will chose/appoint his own Assistant Coach.
- The Coach will draft his team at Draft in accordance to rules and policy.
- The Coach will be assigned Team Jerseys, Goalie Jersey, Goalie Gloves, Game Ball, Practice
Balls, and other equipment as deemed necessary.
- The Coach is responsible for all Equipment assigned to him. Equipment must be returned at
the end of the season. Please keep track of the Team Jerseys. Jerseys must be collected at
the end of the season, washed, and either returned to the CSSC or kept by the Coach. All
damaged jerseys must be given to the CSSC to assure replacement.
- The Coach is responsible for the behavior of his Team Roster. Violent acts and/or foul
language/racial slur towards other members and/or referees will not be tolerated.
- The Coach is responsible to keep his Team Roster informed of any events that occur in the
CSSC League.
- The Coach will assure that his team is aware of the official games schedule.
- The Coach will assure that his players conform to disciplinary actions and respect
suspensions as assessed by the League or following Yellow/Red Cards issued by Refs.
- The Coach will assure that the playing field, players’ bench, and stands are free of all garbage
and debris when leaving the premises. Note: beer drinking is not allowed in public places.
The CSSC League does not encourage or assume any responsibility for the consumption
of alcoholic beverages. Please use discretion and control.
- The Coach is the official spokesperson for the team that he is coaching.
- Other mandates/assignments may be confided to the Coach as the need arises and agreed to.
This is a friendly adult league. The CSSC counts on the Coaches to keep the game friendly and fair for
all.
CSSC Winter Rules
Number of players :
Teams are comprised of 12 players, including the goalie. 7 Players per teamare allowed on the field including the goalie.
Minimum of 5 players (including goalie) is required to start the game.
If less than the required minimum of players:
• There will be a 15 minute grace given to the team to allow for late arrivals. At 15 minutes + 01 second, if team cannot field the required minimum of players (5 including goalie) the team will be assessed with a default loss by a score of 3-0.
• A coach can request for spares to bring their game roster to 10 players. Request is to be made to the “Spares Assignment” for equal or lower caliber of regular players being replaced.
• A regular player can join the team in action at any time. However, a regular player that is being replaced by a spare (as requested by the Coach) cannot join the team for that particular game.
Duration of game :
The referee is the authority on the field and the official Time-Keeper.
• Game starts at 9 :35 p.m.
• There will be a 3-minute break between the 2 halves. In the case of time delay the ref can opt to shorten the break period.
• 2 halves of 25 minutes each, or less if game started late.
• Game ends at 10:30 p.m. (Ref whistles end of game as he is the Time-Keeper)
Note : Teams may change the sides of playing fields at start of 2nd half if they wish, but cannot change players’ bench.
Contact with ceiling :
A free kick will be awarded to the opposing team when the soccer ball makes contact with the ceiling. The free kick will be placed in the area where ball came in contact with ceiling.
If contact took place in the keeper’s area, the opposing team will be awarded with a corner kick. If offensive team causes the contact with the ceiling, defending team is awarded the free kick in the keeper’s area.
Tackle :
All tackles are strictly forbidden. A free kick will be awarded to the opposing team.
Sliding to block a pass or prevent the ball from going out of play is permitted as long as there is no opposing player in the direction of the slide. If a player slides towards an opposing player, A free kick will be given to opposing team.
Positioning of players :
An opposing player must be at a distance of at least 5 yards from player taking a free kick or a « kick-in » (replaces throw-ins).
Throw-ins :
In Indoor Soccer a throw-in is replaced by a kick-in. The following applies:
• A goal can be scored on a “ kick-in “.
• The ball is in play the instant that it crosses the side-line.
• The opposing players must be at a distance of at least 5 meters from where the ball is placed.
Corner :
The soccer ball must be placed at the point of intersection of the 2 outer lines. The opposing players must be at a distance of at least 5 yards from the corner where the ball is placed
Changes :
Changes are unlimited and executed at centre side of the team benches.
Game Sheets:
Coaches must sign the game sheet at the end of every game (bringing any necessary corrections on the spot), no corrections will be made afterwards and what is written on the game sheets will stand as is. (Signature or not) The ref will not run after coaches for a signature
INDOOR 2023/2024 PLAYOFF RULES
Rental of the fields are from 21 h 30 à 23 h 00
No spares are Permitted to play in the Playoffs
With or without permission from other teams. If a spare plays in the playoffs, the team using the spare will loose by default and the other team will advance in the playoffs. (Spare: A player that is not apart of any team’s regular roster. A spare is used to replace missing/injured players from a team.)

2024/2025 Indoor Playoff Rules
2 x 25 minutes halves.
Game ends at Ref’s whistle
Overtime: 1 x 10 minutes. No “golden goal”. Game ends at referee’s whistle.
Note: no “buzzer” in overtime. Game ends at referee’s discretion. Referee has option to add time to recoup “loss of time” during OT. Ref will advise how much time will be added.
Shoot-out:
5 designated players on field from each team.
If still tied after 5 shooters, then designated shooters on bench and field will alternate 1-1 until winner.
If still tied after every player including keeper has taken a kick, coaches can pick any player to take the following kick until winner. (Same player can take several shots at this moment) until winner
